Benzoyl Peroxide gel is used to treat acne. It is a topical antibacterial that is used to help remove bacteria. The bacteria is responsible for the inflammation and irritation of acne. It also helps to unclog blocked up pores as well as increase the turnover of skin cells.

Before you plan on using the Benzoyl Peroxide gel, you need to speak with your doctor or pharmacist. They will be able to be sure that you have never had an allergic reaction to this medicine, as well as knowing that it wont interact with other medication you may be taking.
How to use Benzoyl Peroxide Gel
- Wash the affected area with soap and water.
- Dry the area thoroughly with a towel
- Use the Benzoyl Perxoide gel as directed. Do not use more and do not use it as often.
- Use as recommended.
- Do not apply the gel to the nose, eyes, mouth and other areas.
- Do not apply to open wounds
- Some people may become more sensitive to sunlight than they are normally, whilst using this medicine. Stay away from the sun when you first use it and ensure it you use a sunscreen with a SPF of 15 or higher.
- If you forget to apply this preparation, apply it as soon as you remember, then continue at the usual times.
Benzoyl Peroxide Gel Side Effects
There are some side effects that are typically associated with the use of the Benzoyl Peroxide gel. Some or mild and some might be more serious. The side effects are listed below.
- Mild burning
- Reddening of the skin
- Peeling of the skin
- Dryness
- Stinging sensation

How to Store Benzoyl Peroxide Gel

- Do not keep out of date or unwanted medicines. Discard them safely out of the reach of children or speak to your pharmacist who will dispose of unwanted medicines for you.
